Overview
Streamlining the process of transitioning to practice for new graduates and experienced nurses
Problem
In an environment of severe nursing shortages, Healthcare organizations need to increase the efficiency of their workforce. Traditionally, transition to practice programs for new and experienced nurses have always been time-based and have been allocating a fixed block of time regardless of individual knowledge and performance.
Solution
We have designed and developed the systems that support a competency-based approach to transition to practice programs. This process focuses on identifying individual knowledge gaps, remediation and education against the identified deficiencies, followed by a demonstrated safe performance in actual, real environment.
Benefits
Up to 20% reduction in unproductive time - the period during which an individual is not considered safe to practice independently and to carry a full load of patients.
